After more time than any human being should spend in a seat, we made it to Hong Kong! It's Sunday night over here, a little after 10 pm.
Our flights and check-ins all went extremely well. Even though our trip over the Arctic from Newark to Hong Kong was 16 hours with a broken video system (which meant no movies...not fun), the flight was much better than I expected. And Hong Kong is a beautiful city; the skyline at night is gorgeous.
So now we sleep and do it all again. In the morning we have a half hour flight to Guangzhou and then a one hour flight to Nanning. By the next post, I hope to have pictures of sweet little Lia :)
"O Lord God Almighty, who is like you? You are mighty, O Lord, and your faithfulness surrounds you." Psalm 89:8
Yeah Angela!!!! I hope you got a GREAT nights sleep, cause today is the day you've dreamed of! I'm sooo excited for you--truly! How are the kiddos back home doing? Are you able to Skype? I bet they're excited and missing you at the same time. Praying for your big day tomorrow to go smooth!

Scott and Angela - Just wanted to let you know what great kids you have! They were literally atwitter about your trip this morning on the way to church! They each knew exactly where you were at that moment and each gave me a countdown on when Lia would be in your arms!! Lauren drew a picture of Lia in church this morning. Also, I thought you'd like to know that you made the sermon! Ken was speaking about our call to plunder evil - that we should be working with God to battle evil in the world. He listed examples of ways we can plunder evil - adopting from China was the first example he gave. Lauren and Michael just glowed! I even got lots of snuggle love from Alex. They are doing well and are certainly eating great - Can I borrow your mom for a week when you're done? Peanutbutter pie sounds good to me, too.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know that the kids are doing well and are thinking of you and Lia constantly. You've got great kids.
Hope the Skype started working. Cat and I wanted to give you some privacy with the kids so we ducked out.
Take care!

Hey we went through Newark also. Yes a long flight. I hope your not staying at the Regal airport hotels cause their beds were really really hard. But you probally wont get much sleep anyway. You have quite a day coming up.It's hard to believe your a half a world a way huh. We never could really grasp that concept.Walk down one of the ally ways when you get out of that Americanized Hong Kong and you'll fell it a little more.
