Like I mentioned in the last post, we are able to leave for China in two weeks to go get Lia! We are all excited. And even though I'm sure there will probably be tears of sadness in the future since the kids are staying home, there were none yesterday! When I got off the phone with our travel coordinator who confirmed that our TA had come in, Michael said, "Let's call Daddy at work and yell 'YOU'RE GOING TO CHINA!" So they did...and then Scott screamed. Caused quite a ruckus in the office. :)
We are waiting on one more appointment date...the one at the US Consulate. We should know by Monday when this appointment will be and that will firm up all our dates. As it stands now, we are planning on leaving the States on Saturday, Feb 21, to go to Hong Kong where it will actually be Sunday when we arrive. (I can't think too much about this time difference thing or the room starts to spin). We will spend the night and then travel to Lia's province on Monday where we will finally meet her! A few days there, then a few days in Guangzhou where the Consulate is and then home! Maybe by Wednesday, March 4.
There are many, many things to pray about related to this little adventure but the one that sticks out the most is related to my kids...all of them :) That the hearts of the ones that are staying home will be comforted while we're gone and that the heart of the one we are meeting will be comforted as she leaves all she's ever known to come with us.
Thanks!
