Brave Little Girl

Last night, Lia fell asleep in my arms and never woke up until 6 this morning. She had already been through so much I didn't even change her clothes or diaper. She seemed to sleep well though.

When she woke up this morning, she was sucking her left thumb (very cute!) and looking around the room while laying on her tummy in the crib. I let her stay that way a while and just talked to her and tried to soothe her.

I picked her up after a while and she just started to shake and cry a little. I know she's so scared of all these new things and new people (scary looking people at 6 in the morning). But we're just taking it VERY slow. I was able to change her diaper and for the past few minutes she's been letting Scott feed her Gerber puffs while she snuggles in my lap.

I'm glad to do all the paperwork that must be done this morning but sad that it will interfere with our bonding time.

Please pray for her little heart. Considering all she's been through, she's one brave little girl.

  1. Oh precious little Lia, it's so hard to be so brave and so strong at such a young age. I pray that you know that your little heart learns that you are in such beautiful hands. That your mommy and daddy understand how scared and confused you are. I pray that God's love wraps around you like a warm comfy blanket to help you through this stressful time as quickly as possible. So happy for you Angela--glad to know the kids at home are well--and that you have been able to "skype". AND that everything has gone soo smooth--answer to prayer. I pray that continues for you...

  2. Scott and Angela,
Lia is so beautiful!!! What a precious gift the Lord has blessed you with. Lia, we pray for you, that you would feel the love of Jesus through the arms that hold you now and through those four sweet siblings that can't wait to hold you. God is so good.
