Today's Adventures

Well, really, there aren't any...until our 3:00 appointment at the Consulate where we go take our oath. So what does Scott want to do? Take a cab from the hotel into the city (on our own) where there is apparently the largest jade market in the world, and then take another cab back to Shaiman Island (on our own) for one last look, and then take a third cab back to the hotel (on our own) just in time for our appointment. No guide. No translator. Just a woman and small child. And a little business card with all these destinations written in Chinese.

Can you tell who the adventerous one of the marriage is? Perhaps I'll take my own card which states in Chinese: My name is Sprite and I'm an American. I mean you no harm. :)

  1. So I am anxious to know how all those cab rides went (on your own)! I LOVE the stories and the sense of humor which fills your blogs! Sounds like you are having your fair share of adventures in China and what memories you are making. Look forward to hearing about them in person!

  2. You daring folks! Riding in a taxi in Guangzhou was one of the closest things to death I've ever experienced! And our guide the first time seemed alarmed when we ventured out and rode the subway ~ MUCH safer! Anyway, I hope that you guys had a great time.
And that you didn't have to introduce yourself as Sprite...
