To four sweet faces.
One incredible husband.
Spring-like days.
My own bed.
Schoolwork.
Housework.
Home.
And we are so glad to be here.
But we aren't the same people as the ones who left here a week ago.
How could we be?
We've seen their faces.
We've learned their names.
And we've heard their stories.
We have listened to the prayers being offered on their behalf
And have seen with our eyes the proof that He hears.
How He knows their plight.
How their cries are always before Him.
How He defends their cause.
And how He desires for us,
the ones who bear His name,
to do the same.
143 million.
Each with a name.
Each with a story.
Each, a life worth defending.
Lord, give us strength for the battle.
Beautiful pictures...so thankful you guys are home safe and had a wonderful trip. Had a great visit with those four smiling faces and Scott. Really appreciate him bringing them up for a visit. Love you so much and hope to see you soon!!!
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing the pictures, so glad you shared your experience with us.

I know your heart is torn, as it should be, but I am thankful you are home too! I prayed for you this morning as your adjust back to life with your family in Durham...figuring out how to reconcile the needs you saw in China while living well this day with what God has called you to. God has such a beautiful way of awakening our hearts to the needs of others while driving us to find contentment in Him alone. May His peace bathe your perspective.
ReplyDeleteTears...
ReplyDeleteDesires to go...
Praying for that same strength...
(Wish you lived a smidge closer and we could be daily coffee buddies!)
