This Christmas

It was this time last year that Scott and I received pictures of Lia from her orphanage in China. It's hard to believe that only a year ago we were holding on to a promise of what was to come:

The sweet smile

The silly faces

The serious side

The love of shoes

And the joy of knowing her in all her complexities.
Merry Christmas little girl...we're glad you are here with us.

  1. We got our daughter in July from China and she loves shoes too. She is actually in the hospital right now and wants a shoe to hold for comfort. You guys remind me of our family because we have a 4 year old son too and your interactions look a lot like ours.

She looks beautiful in her Christmas dress. :)

  4. Angela--our Izabella just tonight wanted to put her new white sneakers on to go to bed. :) She loves her clothes too. She got a few clothes for Christmas and would always immediately pull off whatever she had on to try it on! Right away!

    You're Lia is so precious...truly.
