The Big Night

Thursdays are usually looong days for us.  Yesterday we left the house at 8:30 in the morning and didn't get back home until 11 at night (right before these little princesses turned into pumpkins).  But it was so worth it.

We started with dinner.  Took a little while as these 2 were determined to eat their Chinese with real chopsticks.  (I admired their tenacity but opted for the fork myself.)

Then it was off to the big event.
They were giddy in the car and giggly all the way until performance time.
And then for the next 3 hours we were blessed to hear music and stories and testimonies from a family that has come to mean a lot to us over the past few years.  None other than...drum roll, please...
The Chapmans
SCC himself, his sweet wife, as well as his sons

I loved watching these two take it all in and grin from ear to ear every time he spoke about his sweet girls and adoption.

But I have to say that the highlight for me was finally being able to meet "in person" my bloggy friend Kristi and her husband (who are proud parents to 3..with 1 waiting in China...of the cutest kids I've ever seen.  I didn't realize that they would be there as well but what a sweet surprise it was!  And since I am secretly plotting an arranged marriage between her Caleb and my Lia, I felt that this was an important first step in making that happen.  Just sayin'  :)

Blessing upon blessing, I tell you.  And a great night all around.

He's Coming to Town

No, not the bearded guy in the red suit (although signs of his coming are starting to crop up everywhere).

It's him, you see.  And I promised myself that if he came within a 60 mile radius, I'd take my girls to see him.

Simply because they love him.  And his family.

And I love the fact that they love him.  And his family.

So tonight is the big night.

We'll get all gussied up (well not really, but I will make them brush their hair...love you, girls :)  ) and we'll head out.

And hopefully the night will be everything they've long-imagined it would be.

Overflowing

Yesterday, after receiving a handful of pictures of Lily enjoying her special day with friends my cup was officially full.

This morning, in my inbox once again, there were even more pictures.  Twenty-seven to be exact.

Yes, that's right.  Twenty-seven.

Twenty-seven wonderful pictures of my girl smiling, laughing, being silly.

Pictures of her with her friends.  Precious little ones waiting for families.

And even a picture of her and (from what it appears to me) her foster mother.

Priceless pictures that I am so grateful to have.  To keep.  For me.  And more importantly, for her.

And my cup?  Absolutely, positively, overflowing.
